So, I'm thinking of buying a 3DS for my girlfriend. She has an original model DS, so she's overdue for an upgrade.

The question is: do I get her a 3DS or a newer model XL?

If I do get her a 3DS, should I get one of these discounted models at Best Buy? Or wait until Black Friday for a better bundle?

I have a 3DS, so I know what it's capable of, but I'm sorry to say I've never played a 3DS XL. Is it worth the extra money??

Oh, and to preempt any Vita suggestions, I don't think she'd go for it. She likes Mario, Zelda, LEGO, and Harvest Moon, mostly. Plus she could continue to play her DS games on the 3DS.

I've played with both and I'd choose XL. It feels more comfortable and the battery lasts much longer.

If you want to do something special get her a 3DS and then go to skinit.com and design her a 3DS skin. Have it already applied to the 3DS for when she opens it. You could use in picture for the design including a picture of you two together.

For me the XL is the better option. its really more confortable to play with it, the screen size is a plus and the battery life is better.

You could have a poll but I am sure most people would say XL. I have the original and it is fine. However, I wouldn't mind the XL for the bigger size and longer battery.

Id say xl is a better option but the regular isnt bad by any means.

Well, that depends on how much you love her.

Well it is Very obvIous whaT she wAnts. If money isn't too big of an issue of course you should go with the premium product. It is bigger and has a much better screen.

If she likes 3D, keep in mind the XL also has slightly better 3D ;)

Size does matter so go with the bigger one.
