As it stands the Wii is 4,527,314 ahead

Last week 360 outsold Wii by 34,316 so at this rate it would take it 132 weeks to catch it up.

So what do you think? Can it do it or will the Wii hold on?

I think the 360 will do it.

I agree with all but PS3 in Europe. I think the 360s strength in the UK will take enough sales away from the PS3 for the Wii to hold on to the lead.

The way I see it:

360 US &UK
PS3 &Wii a mixture of Europe
Wii Japan

Aslo, with regard to the responses in my original thread, it's amazing how many people expected the Wii to continue selling so well. I also thought in early 2011 it was becoming obvious that the Wii was gonna fade. I think its out of the PS3/360 to become this generations legacy system and continue seeling for years like the PS2.

I also think that the WiiU could actually extend the lifespan of the PS3/360 and actually give them a shot of catching the Wii's final lifetime sales although that is a long shot.

yeah i think it will, at the end of 2013 i think the xbox will have the lead in the US.

It will pass it for sure now (in the original thread a lot of people including myself didn't expect Wii sales to collapse as much and as quickly as they have).

It is still kind of shocking (to me at least) to see how Nintendo abandoned such a popular console when they could have milked it for 10s of millions of more sales.

This gen has just thrown out all of the rules. I'm scared.

It will be close, but I think the Wii will hold out. When Nintendo drops the Wii to $99 and below, it will give it a nice little boost. Nothing huge, of course, but enough to slow down the decreasing gap. Also, within those 132 weeks we're going to be seeing the release of the Wii U, PS4, and NeXbox. The new consoles, plus the added length of this gen, will definitely slow the 360's sales down substantially.

360 163k above the Wii this week. That gap keeps on shrinking!

If 360 becomes the #1 console in NA by the end of this gen, I think that alone is a victory for MS.
