Forums - Gaming - angry birds trilogy costs 40$, has activision lost its mind?

Tagged games:

so as the tittle says angry birds will cost 40$ on PS3 and xbox and 30$ on the 3DS, according to eurogamer here is what the tittle includes :

"the games will be digitally-remastered with 1080p graphics and artwork, new animated cinematics, surround sound, Move/Kinect support, 3D support, achievements, and plenty of unlockables like concept art.

It will also include 19 new levels, in case the 700 plus that came with the original games weren't enough. However, it won't include the updates to the original games that boosted the level count to 855, nor does it include Angry Birds Space."

what do you guys think? ohh the three games are angry birds, angry birds seasons and angry birds rio

Should have all (including space) for no more than $10-15 even if they are "redoing" the games. I would probably drop 5-7 dollars on it at the most.

Concept art?
I know I'm missing the point, but seriously? Angry Birds has concept art?

ohh crap! second time a make a thread that has already been done! sorry i didnt see your thred!

This is my first time seeing this news, so thanks for posting it. =)

Interesting to say the least.. is this a digital download or a physical product? I understand that there are a number of extra costs to physically distributing a game, but this is insane. Who's going to buy this for more than $10?

I would understand 4 dollaz but 40? Cmon son, who u kiddin. 3 games I can play free on my phone.

I generally try a number of the smaller games on offer on the ps3 but due to prices like this, I dont bother with ported versions of smartphone games. Just not worth the price.

And if the sales are low, you will probably see the devs whining about how consoles are crap compared tp smartphones.

true, but the question is, if this sells buttloads what does this mean? and whats gonna happen to the indusrty once they see a stupid game like angry birds sell like hot cakes?

Whatever happened to Angry Birds 3DS? I expected it to be a DLC game and cost £8, and I was going to call that insane,

It's supposed to a $30 retail release. So yes, Activision is insane.

While I would rather they not succeed so that they acknowledge the price was too high or even be forced to bring the price down, I dont think the game selling would be a bad thing for consoles. There are literally tons of smartphone games out there and a successful Angry Birds game would probably see more of these coming to console. And yes, they might cost more but I would prefer to see them come to console and be highly priced THEN to see them not come to console altogether. We seem to be heading towards a system where the difference between types of games and what you play them on is getting blurred and I think this trend will continue.
