Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Monster Hunter is awesome!!

I have recently begun playing monster hunter tri. Didn't know this series was so awesome! Wow!! Impressive game.

On a side note, I prefer the Wii controls to using the classic pro controller. The same thing happened with Xenoblade. Does anyone else prefer Wiimote+Nunchuk in these games to the classic/classic pro? Somehow I really like the way the wiimote+nunchuk feels.

I got the game but was actually kind of disappointed.
Glad you like it though!

The first time I played it, I tried with the classic controler and I didn't like it so I stopped. Some time later I was trying to play Xenoblade and couldn't get into the classic controler so I tried the wiimote and thought it was miles better. So some time later, I decided to try Monster Hunter with the Wiimore.

I'm not sure it was the change of controlers alone that made me like the game. It is a game that does not hold your hand while you learn to play. Many things you'll learn to play by experimentation and this is a different concept of gameplay which I found to be very rewarding. From time to time, I come to a new monster and I have to observe him and try many things before I get used to killing it. I find this really amazing.

Yea, I played MH3 a lot. I think I ended with about 300+ hours or so. Not too sure but somewhere around there. Like you I enjoyed using the Wiimote+nunchuck controls over the classic controller. I just seemed to play better with the Wiimote. I actually used the CCP more for Xenoblade though.

I've always had fun with it on PSP, i'm sincerely hoping Monster Hunter 4 or at least Monster Hunter 3G comes to the west :D

My favorite MH is still the first, call me a hipster, but I bet none of you guys played it.
And it had the best intro and soundtrack

I was indifferent to it before. Now I really hope they do also.

Did you play all of them? Why would you say that it was the best? Is it just because it was your first time to the monster hunter experience and the other ones were more of the same or was it because there was something better done in the first one?

I saw a lot of recommendations for MHTri when I was looking for an online game to play on Wii with a friend of mine. I didn't really know what Monster Hunter was back then. Still might give this a try one day. What's it like, grindy? Is the co-op play any good?

We ended up just spending most of our time arsing around on Mario Kart unfortunately.

MH is a great series. And hopefully, MH4 or MH3G will come to the west next year. Though MH is not that popular in the west.
