Epic Games have made it very clear that they don't give a crap if consoles die out one day. They've made it very clear they will always move the the "it" platform of the moment in a recent Kotaku article.

"We made Unreal on PC and then moved to console because that's where the sweet spot was. Now, we're making games on the iPhone because that's the platform of the moment."

Maybe I'm reading this wrong but it sounds to me like they don't care about releasing quality games on consoles. Sounds like they are happy releasing games for the yearly $600 iPads.

boycotts in this nature are just stupid. I don't buy most epic games, but I'm not boycotting them.

They never said they weren't going to make things for consoles. But that they think the sweet spot (probably for profit) is on the iphone. It's not like infinity blade was a crappy effor either it got good reviews. To not try to make games on a platform you think will be profitable on is just dumb. Theiropinion on consoles dieing was just an opinion of one person in that company, they never said they were going to quit making them for consoles.

I'd rather them make only PC games like they originally did. But that wouldn't have been as a successful of a bussiness strategy would it?

I know there is a game by epic games releasing on consoles sometime this or the next year.......I don't remember it's name.

But they prefer to work on iPhone/iPad which gets yearly harware releases. This is very bad for consumers if these things end up being the primary gaming platform.

$1-$15 games? Not so cheap considering the thing you play them on cost $600, yearly!

It will only be a primary platform if consumers make it the primary platform. It doesn't necessarily pay for them to only release it for the latest revision of the iphone.

It's not good for consumers that there are 3 consoles either.

plus boycotting console games is only going to push them develop on iphone. Boycot Square-Enix too since they make chaos rings.

Epic's fault is that they abandoned PC gaming...... and stopped making Jazz Jackrabbit games.

Consoles have gotten way too much support this gen. Epic should move to PC and not iPhone.

Of course not that would be the hight of stupidity, if anything you should buy all their console games to indicate it's worth them still making them. The market it will decide what they make if console gamers buy their games they will keep making them.
