"Most wished for" does not actually compute to actual pre-orders

Mixing up their tenses there somewhat. Should read

Nintendo in Aug. price cut the Nintendo 3DS handheld to $169.99, 0 percent off the current $169.99 MSRP.
or
Nintendo in Aug. price cut the Nintendo 3DS handheld to $169.99, 33 percent off the contemporary $249.99 MSRP.

Yeah, it was expected. MK7 will be massive, but It will be interesting to see if it will drive hardware as much as its DS predecessor. Never the less Im seeing a future 10 million+ seller here

Well, while we're nitpicking, it's actually 32 percent, not 33 percent :).  Adding a penny to each price would give exactly 32%, but there is no reasonable way that 32.00128 should round to 33.

im being honest here i was soo disgraced and saddened that i got a 3ds, i felt ripped but look at the great games comming up right now amazing :D

I wonder because the source had to have made a mistake. According to Amazon themselves their "Most Wished For" stats come from users wish lists. Users can tag an item for their wish list. So items with a lot of tags mean a lot of customers want the product. But to my knowledge this doesn't translate to actual pre-orders.

Heck I bet a lot of people added it to their wish list without even owning 3DS, I've added products I am interested in to my wish list before with no intent to buy them. They were just products I wanted to follow and was interested in.

Its nice to know that so many consumers are interested in Mario Kart 7 but until actual pre-order numbers are made available and sales stats come out I'll with hold my excitement.

Of course I have no doubt that Mari Kart 7 will make the top 20 upon launch. In fact I'd be surprised if it didn't make the top ten at one point after launch. Mario Kart is the highest grossing spin-off in the Mario franchise, it performed extremely well on DS and Wii as well as every platform it has been on since SNES.

Yeah I've added many games to different wish lists and a lot of them I never end up buying.

Mario games usually aren't front-loaded. This game will probably go on to sell 10-15+ million lol.

of course the sales will be amazing, the last two mario karts reached over 20 million. I'm actually more impressed tha they didn't just gives  a plain old mario kart, they added a lot of stuff this time around. Custimizable karts, kite, underater gameplay, first person view, etc And even retro is helping on the development, can't wait!
