Uhh don't think there's a problem buddy.

they've been doing these for all game releases, not just nintendo, the apps on itunes and android market are made by normal people not always officials.

This is not an official app, however given Iwata's statements about working with other platforms during the recent shareholder's meeting, I expect to see more apps from Nintendo, and one's offering more functionality than that pokemon one as well.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

mini-games on consoles, cinematic games on handhelds, what's next? GameBoy IMAX?

Pokemon is entirely owned by Nintendo, it's just that they don't entirely control their own ability to license it out, which is held by the Pokemon Company, a brand management skeleton

This definitely wouldn't be an official app, though. Just looking at it you see Metroid Prime Samus used for the background of the App, which Nintendo wouldn't use

Nintendo should crack down hard on these illegitimate apps. If people think they can get Nintendo games on smartphones, then it'll hurt DS/3DS

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

ACtually that is a good idea for nintendo. Sell the apps for walkthroughs and stuff of there games on iphone and stuff, to make extra money. They as we have said not games, so people still are not playing games on the iphone, just interesting apps.

If you read through Iwata's points from the latest shareholder meeting, it looks like he's talking about some of kind of connectivity between Nintendo devices and other lifestyle consumer products, such as networked TVs and maybe tablets and cell-phones. This would be a good change of direction for the company as it would allow for expansion into other hardware markets without sacrificing their own hardware as a key component in the experience. Personally, if they follow through on this, I expect to see more interesting applications that use such connectivity than just simple guides and walkthroughs.
