Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Video launching this Wednesday

I just noticed that this will be a new application besides SpotpassTV. (First I thought "Nintendo Video" would be just the European name for SpotpassTV.) I'm wondering in what way this will be different...
I guess I'll see tomorrow, when I download it.

What made you notice the differences between this application and the SpotpassTV??

You say tomato, I say tomato

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

I checked the Nintendo homepage and there I saw the new application.

I hope this evolves into something big...

Here's hoping, right?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I would be glad if I could decide myself which videos to keep.
I'd also love to add my own videos.

It seems your fears were founded Manuel. Like you said, the Japanese 3DS already has Spot TV which started on June 21. Spot TV sends original 3D video content, produced by Fuji TV and Nippon TV, to the 3DS via Spot Pass.

This Nintendo Video is similar to Spot TV in that you'll also receive free videos through Spot Pass. The difference is that the Nintendo Video offerings include 3D and 2D video content that Nintendo recommends. The content will be offered periodically (this is as opposed to the "daily" offerings of Spot TV).

First set includes...

Tokyo Girls Collection

  • A fashion show themed around “real clothes,” or the kind of clothes that teens and 20-year-old girls wear.

Yoshimoto Nintendo 3DS Experimental Theater

  • Various skits from comedians.

3D Fura Fura Machi Aruki Kyoto

  • A 3D tour of Kyoto, hosted by Tomoko Tabata.

And NoA isn't that far behind, they said it will be available later this summer with Netflix to follow:

Nintendo's short-form video service that delivers special video content for Nintendo 3DS systems will launch in North America later this summer. In addition, Netflix members who have an unlimited plan starting at $7.99 a month and access to a broadband wireless Internet connection will soon be able to download a free Netflix application that allows them to watch movies and TV shows on their Nintendo 3DS systems at no extra charge. These services will add to the wealth of games and entertainment content currently available via the Nintendo eShop. For more information about Nintendo 3DS, visit http://www.nintendo.com/3ds.

= Meh. Don't want. If I want Tokyo Girls I want the x-rated version.  :P

3D Fura Fura Machi Aruki Kyoto

  • A 3D tour of Kyoto, hosted by Tomoko Tabata.

This is actually relatively interesting and already better than everything available on SpotPassTV.

I'm looking forward to what might be coming in the future.
