Doubt it. My guess is people, even those who were not necessarily familiar with Duke's history (and specifically wanted to relive games of the early PC FPS glory days past), rather understood that they were getting a gratuity-centered experience, much like how Bulletstorm gathered what sales it did on its own promise of gratuitousness. Now people don't expect something compelling, engaging, or highly-polished in such a case, they just want mayhem, and they probably knew what they were getting into

I don't see one bad game hurting hardware sales. One good game can boost hardware sales immensley but one bad game doesn't do the opposite. Look at Bubsy3D on the PSOne, often called the worst game ever made, did that hurt PSOne sales? Or how about SuperMan64 one of the other worst games of all time according to journalists yet the N64 while not outselling PSOne was not injured by its release.

Duke Nukem is nowhere near as bad as those two games. I doubt it will have any impact on hardware sales at all. Look at all the shovel ware on the Wii, didn't hurt sales.

I think it will hurt the next Duke Nukem... which will be an awesome game and out Duke back on th FPS throne.. we'll find that out when it releases 14 years from now... ¬_¬

There a far worse games than DNF that haven't hurt their sales so this won't make it.

BTW, if this game were not a Duke Nukem game, it'd have scored 60 and 70s. It's only for its name and history that critics are giving it such low scores.
