Nah, that investment was part of an out of court settlement. And even in the dark days of the late 90s, the $150 million injection was dwarfed by Apple's cash reserves, so it wasn't really a bailout. The continued development of Office for Mac was a far more important concession.

MS foolishly sold those shares years ago. They'd be worth about $5 billion today.

Apple has been steadily outgrowing MS over years. It doesn't seem to be a flash in the pan. Apple has overtaken MS because they have been growing profits for years, not because of day trading.

Well deserved for Apple, i hope they both continue to make money.
