Good month for the Switch 2. I would say that next month would be worse for it due to the price going up at the start of September but it seems it did really well in the UK that month. Good month for the PS5 as well being notably up compared to the PS4 so GTA 6 is already doing something for it. In better circumstances it would be about to have an amazing 2nd half of the year. Xbox Series on the other hand is just about finished while the Switch 1 hits another low.

Well I wouldn't call the Series "finished". Irony of ironies, a while ago, you were on the more optimistic side for it and I was on the pessimistic (2024 projection I think?) Now we are reversed. With the price hikes taken effect from August 1st, doing over 100k (given doing almost the same amount for almost all of the year) is a good sign. We should wait and see if the baseline will fall further for September and October, but following a decent price hike, and dropping just slightly is unexpected. If it can keep such a baseline or close to it, let's say at least 80k per month or more for the next year, I think the Xbox might have some 1.2M at least left in the tank for 2027 and some 800k after that until end of life, which is still something, given all the doom and gloom everyone is talking about it. And a drop from 2.5M last year to around ~1.8M this year, is not so bad.

I did say just about so next year is when it'll basically be finished. That year the sales of it will get so low that it won't really be worth discussing any more even if its decline in the final stretch ends up less severe than expected. It's already sold about 95% of its lifetime sales basically.
