Amen, true masterpieces, and in a world where adaptations are so hit-and-miss its a miracle that one of the greatest books in English literature got such a neigh-perfect translation to the screen. It could have gone so horribly wrong, yet somehow they nailed it.
Still remember seeing them every December from 2001-2003 when I was a kid, and my family used to rewatch them every September 22nd (Bilbo and Frodo's birthday) as a tradition.
