Heres the thing, I think Remedy games are usually quite good, but I never managed to get into them. I played the Max Payne games a little after they came out, but they never clicked with me. The hype was pretty serious around them. Same with Alan Wake, I loved that on paper, even enjoyed parts of it, but I soon realised that I am not in love with it. The closest I got to actually loving one was Control, but even with that game, I never got around finishing it ( even though the combat was really tight).
I can see that they are good or even great games, but there is something about their style that stop me from fully immersing into them. This weird noire, cop movie feeling, that for whatever reason holds me at arms length from being able to fully appreciate them. It's not the games fault, it just comes down to taste.
