I feel like many forget that Directs are meant for Nintendo's core audience. As in those who primarily or exclusively play on Nintendo hardware. They're well aware that a lot of these ports are years old, but not to their core audience. To the core audience, they're still new games.

For me, I primarily play first-party Nintendo games, with the occasional third-party game that I feel suits a Nintendo console best. Such as Mouse PI for Hire, Marvel Cosmic Invasion, Yooka-Replaylee, or the upcoming Toy Story collection.

So as a more passive Nintendo enjoyer, the Direct was a 4/10. But, I can completely understand why those who main Nintendo's consoles, would give the Direct an 8 or 9/10. If anything, Nintendo is continuing to flex that the Switch 2 is just as capable of being a third-party console as it is a first-party console.

I have a good feeling that by this time next year, hardly any third-party games will be missing on Switch 2 at their launch. It's already leaning heavily in that direction.

I was mainly a Nintendo gamer until I got a PS4 in 2019. I'd love Switch 2's third-party lineup so much more and the reveals if I didn't have a PS4 and PS5.

And I really want to play Duskbloods but it's still MIA with a 2026 release date still listed

I would not be shocked if it's pushed to Q1/Q2 2027 for more polish.
