Oh no worries. Its incredible complicated and convoluted to even explain when you do get it. The old method would just send your console the permanent license when you purchased the game. And the new method has a side effect that popping the CMOS triggers a check. I support this though because its not intrusive, its not every 30 days and developers need protection too just like we do as consumers. Its about finding the balance. How bout you? Do you think Sony should be allowed to verify purchases? Oh do you have a different take? |
I don't think they should put any internet/server restriction on any purchases at all, and if they do, that should be readily communicated right before the purchase step happens at the very least.
Their support char is a big problem which they should address and could solve this problem without resorting to this, it feels like, as in other cases as the dinamic pricing and now the ending of physical media, Sony is deliberatedly pushing for worse things for the customers in their attempt to please investor with rapidly raising their profit ratios without giving anything good as a counter.
About the support chat for example, it is also being used to steal people's accounts with very basic info as the purchase date of digital content that bypasses even the 2 factor authentication security, and only people with internal connections can eventually get their account back. But instead of addressing the glaring problems their very poorly trained support chat brings to both them and customers, they once again decide to force shit on the customers as their way to get a solution that only benefits themselves.
It really feels like Sony is loving to test people into accepting a worse and worse experience if it means its easier and/or more profitable for them, because people will just end up accepting anything anyway.
