I love the Wii U. Always have, always will. IMO the Wii U gamepad is so much more comfortable than any of their handhelds.
Objectively speaking looking back, if you were a home console only player, then yes it would have been a rough ride between big releases. However, I think paired with the 3DS, there was enough software to keep me excited throughout the generation.

Yeah as someone who didn't really get into the 3DS it was rough, I ended up spending more time on my PS3 and 360 than my Wii U during that gen.

Still though, some good memories with the few gems it did get.

I think it is undeniable that it had some bangers. Mario Kart 8 and Breath of the Wild are two of the biggest and most important games of the past 15 years, and they both had their start on the Wii U.
Add to that Super Mario 3D Worlds, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Splatoon, Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Rayman Legends, Bayonetta 2, Smash Bros 4, Mario Maker, a bunch of indie gems…
I prefer it to Wii and Gamecube, but not to any other Nintendo home console.

Yeah I also prefer Wii U to Gamecube personally; I liked 3D World more than Sunshine, Mario Kart 8 more than Double Dash, and BOTW more than Wind Waker or Twilight Princess.
