From what I remember Splatoon is pretty popular in Japan. I would expect a boost next week but I think that is expected. What is more interesting is whether it will lead to a higher baseline. |
"Pretty Popular" is an understatement. Splatoon 3 reportedly had a first week of over 3 million in Japan, making it the biggest launch in the country's history. The two entries on Switch have sold well over 8 million combined, and have likely sold around 14 or 15 million copies on Switch total.
The only limits for Splatoon Raiders are the Switch 2's install base and the fact that Raiders is a spinoff. And even with those factors, this will easily be one of the biggest launches of the year in Japan.
