this is an excuse. is the argument that people would buy it because its star fox 64 and not a new star fox? it still could have easily just been its own game. there was zero point in making it star fox 64.

It's to get devs used to tools/engine hardware with a smaller project. So the devs of this tears Star Fox probably working on a larger game. This has become fairly common practice in more recent years as development becomes more complex.

ok but still, why couldnt they have made new levels? all it would have requried was someone with imagination to design new levels that are similar to starfox 64 but not actually starfox 64. to me, they already did all the hard work of making this build of the game, you cant tell me there is nobody who could have conceived of new levels and a new map. given all the work they have already put into it, this would not be a huge leap to do.

it must be, and i alluded to this in my original post, that they think it would sell more or be more marketable as a starfox 64 remake as opposed to its own game. but if thats the case, why isn't the "64" in the title? its almost as if they are trying to pass this off as a brand new game to the general consumer but still lean on the fact that its a remake of our favorite star fox game to those of us who played it 30 years ago. the whole thing is convoluted and doesn't make any sense. just make some new damn levels, put a little bit of love into it, and throw that bone to your core fans. Lord knows you have the money to do it.
