Project Hail Mary. In short, this film gave me huge nostalgic 80s vibes with a 2020s coat of paint.
Without spoiling too much with an obvious comparison, for simply what the emotional experience of the film reminded me of: perhaps something like a Don Bluth film. Or an 80s film that has its share comedy over a dramatic story and scenes that perhaps scarred your childhood in ways Disney never had the guts to do.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
