People are tired of superhero movies, yeah Spider-Man and Avengers and the bigger IP will still draw but outside of that you really have to do something that is an event to draw big box office.

It's $20-$25 a ticket, $10-$15 for popcorn, another $6-10 for a soda, people don't want to keep seeing the same shit over and over again.

"Superhero with superhero problems" doesn't cut it anymore as a draw. People have seen Guardians of the Galaxy, just having that vibe/hook isn't wowwing anyone any more. It's not 2017 anymore.

I think only Avengers + Spider-Man can reliably pull $1 billion in box office any more of superhero comics (Deadpool + Wolverine seemed like a one off team up). Everything else is going to be adjusted down the line. The regular/normal audience just doesn't view superheroes as must see viewing anymore. Days of "general superhero origin story" automatically making big dollars is over.
