Apart from Metroid Prime 4, which is Switch 1 developed game buffed up for Switch 2, those are all technically simpler games....just like Switch Sports Resort. As I said, I'm looking this from consumer perspective and comparing directly to what Sony did for PS4/PS5 with actual heavy hitters - somehow, they didn't have problem with supporting PS4 for two years, while building up PS5 base. Besides, isn't Nintendo building up to officially enter Indian market with Switch 1? This would be pretty good title for that. |
PS's situation is different; their core audience show up every time pretty much no matter what, Nintendo's are historically much less reliable and need more convincing. Nintendo can't afford to hold back Switch 2 the way Sony held back the PS5, they'd risk Switch 2 failing to grow a healthy install base.
I actually don't think it benefits the consumer overall to keep Switch 1 alive for too long, as that could hurt Switch 2 owners. As a customer, it's not in my interest for Switch 1 to keep getting games if it means my new console is put at risk.
For the moment, the expansion to India is still unconfirmed, but if its true, they'll be just fine with what the Switch 1 already has.
