As revealed with Yoshi some time ago, Nintendo now has a price split for their games between digital and phyisical, and I remember having conversations with some people here about what that actually meant, I have seen praise for Nintendo making games digital cheaper, but when I compared to Switch 2 games released before the price split in Europe, it instead started matching Europe physical prices in euros, while they used to be $10 less in dollars compared to euros.

Well, the new Fire Emblem game is confirmed to be $70 digital and $80 physical as per IGN: https://www.ign.com/articles/fire-emblem-fortunes-weave-sets-standard-physical-price-at-80

We have already confirmed that the price for digital in euros is also 70. I don't know if there is confirmation for physical there but the pattern is that it'll be 80 euros, 10 more than digital, as usual for euro pricing.

Mario Kart World was 80 euros digital and 90 euros phisical. Fire Emblem is not an equivalent to Mario Kart World, it's an equivalent to Donkey Kong Bananza, which was 70 euros digital and 80 euros physical. Which likely means that IF there is still a game to come like Mario Kart World, like a new mainline Zelda for example, that has a price tag of $80 for digital, that could cost $90 physical in the USA.

So there it is, before the split a game costing $70 digital would also cost $70 physical in the USA, but now it costs $80 physical. Comparision between games and regions was valid and pointed towards this outcome from the moment the split was announced.
