- Best selling games being mostly mainstream casual titles (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe = Mario Kart Wii, Switch Sports = Wii Sports, Ring Fit = Wii Fit, Super Mario Party, Animal Crossing, Pokemon)
- Traditional franchises are more streamlined and casual friendly (Mario Odyssey is super easy, BotW and TotK are simple and accessible)
Every single criticism the "hardcore gamer" and game journalist elite gave the Wii, applies just as much to the Switch. But it gets a free pass entirely because it's a portable console. That means these people can safely quarantine the Switch as another great Nintendo handheld to go along with their powerful console and PC.
If the Switch wasn't a portable system, those of you who hated the Wii, would hate the Switch for literally the exact same reasons.
