It's not gonna turn into a console war but it might as well be asking for it 😅
Hum anyway on my opinion, it goes to say Imma gonna elect the Switch 1 for the title but I do think the arguments for each case are gonna be widely different for some. I'd argue the 7th Gen was basically the last real time in console gaming where there was the possibility for mid-size team devs and bigger teams alike to try out the freshest of ideas, new IPs and take wild turn with old IPs without suffering from devastating financial loses resulting in closures galore. Before the industry over-industrialized itself.
And the PS2 library shows it because it's just overall fullest catalog in terms of spectrum you could imagine.
As for the hardware, it advanced the the metrics of what could be possible for home console but it wasn't really on the cutting edge of its peers.
Same could be said about the Switch really, wasn't a cutting edge console if it's generation, though it actually a massive step for handheld gaming as a whole and it completely opened the possibility for high end portable gaming that would finally be seen on par with what is offered on home console. Therefore it is a win there.
As for the library, the Switch experienced the highest highs Nintendo and it's multitude of franchises could likely ever experience in their lifetime, surpassing records than the PS2 hasn't touched by far despite selling so many consoles.
Both library shares games with the most critically acclaims and genre defining titles of their generation or gaming history you could say.
So to determine which you'd prefer goes to one's own experience and taste.
I haven't played the PS2 enough during my childhood to get a grip for it sadly, so my choice stops at the Switch handily
