At the end of the day the answer is either ps2 or S1, both have arguments in their favor.  And like usual, Sony is beinf undersold here on VG (and I say that as a PC gamer).  

The controller was another thing you had to buy vs. something that worked out of the box. To a casual consumer, those types of barriers to entry are a deal breaker.

Lol, 8 to 1 barrier.  Nah.  The ps2 sold because of price and library.  The DVD was an additional selling point, but low on the list.
