I would be fine with those as well.  The S1 has high sales, but the market is way bigger too, that needs to be accounted for.  

The fact the home market has doubled and the S1 still won't hit ps2 numbers, credit where credit is due.

To your point, the top 3 would be Atari, NES and ps2.  S1 isn't top 3.  

While the S1 was (obviously) successful, the ps4 did incredibly as well.  The S1 didn't dominate the market.  While the ps2 flatly dominated with an iron fist.

Part of why those consoles were so dominant was that they didn't face the same level of entrenched competition or economic pressures we have today.

It's pretty much impossible for a console in the 2010s or 2020s to dominate the way say the NES did in the 80s, we just live in a completely different world today.
