Interesting that the character art deviates from the redesigns in the Mario movie , great visual presentation overall but the Movie got exactly right and this feels a bit too lacking in the expressiveness/stylisation. Makes me think maybe it wasn't developed in-house?

Honestly this doesn't feel like it needed another remake, an outright reboot would of been more welcome but after watching the Prologue with Foxes Dad, it makes me think they're using this as a smaller scope project to set up the proper sequel.
