Yeah, we kind of got the wrong impression of Tyr because of his situation, plus his world traveller era would be a very different situation in itself and more interesting that way. There's a lot more to mine from him. And we already had some time to play as Atreus, whereas Faye has only been a flashback so far, making her fresh and interesting. Usually I'm not a fan of prequels because they feel like going over things we already know, but this seems interesting to me. |
We definitely still know too little of both Tyr and Faye.
The way we discover Faye knew the exact details of the journey to the giants realm in the first game, that we took out the trees she marked so things could get in motion (GoW 4 literally starts with that), and what we get added on about her, like fighting Thor (to the point of creating a frozen lighting just like when Kratos fought him as well), or that Brok and Sindri respected her so much they did the Levianthan axe to her, rivaling their work with Thor'a Mjolnir. Faye definitely had an eventful life and a lot of influence we never got to see.
Same about Tyr, people of all realms loved Tyr, he traveled the world meeting other cultures and even incorporating them in his fighting styles, he was trying to do a proper god of war work, but much more than that, like hiding the giants travel gate to help protect them from Odin (which very much means he worked together with Faye on that and likely other things), and we got to see he even challenged Valhalla too like we do in the DLC and was already at that self awareness point Kratos is now after doing it himself.
Both Faye and Tyr did so much we have never seem and just heard a few things about. Atreus is now doing such a thing himself, traveling and likely will result in him becoming a far different character that he was. I have already had him by my side for like 150 hours tho, I'm definitely not craving for more about him right now, I would even say Freya also has a lot more I would like to see before being focused on Atreus again, so I hope she does stick by Kratos side.
