Yeah, what a BS "analyst" lol. 6 million units planned for this quarter would equal 24 million units per year... and that's without taking into account increases in production to stock up for the holidays. Nintendo never forecasted Switch 2 to sell that many units this fiscal year or this quarter. He's just trying to make his prior statement seem more plausible.

It's like Apple rumors: Apple is constantly on the verge of releasing a new iPhone with x feature or announcing a new product "next month". And then, when the date rolls around and passes or the features haven't been announced, these "analysts" always say "yeah, my prediction wasn't wrong. But Apple had to change plans." Yeah, of course. (Some people, like Mark Gurman, actually make a living out of this nonsense).

Yeah this same guy, Mochizuki, insisted that a 4K Switch Pro was imminent back in 2021, which of course never happened.

Both Nintendo and Sony have had to come out and issue statements shutting down his claims on multiple occasions.

The whole industry and many sources got behind the 4k Switch though. Digital foundary who don't play much in the rumour world were like they were definitely aware of hardware. I genuinely think the 4k Switch just got cancelled. They've never peddled rumours just for the sake of it.

"I think at one point internally, from what I can understand from talking to different developers, is that there was some sort of mid-generation Switch update planned at one point, and that seems to be no longer happening. And thus, it's pretty clear that whatever they do next is going to be the actual next-generation hardware."
