I'm not sure I'd say it's quite the same. MM ended support for Dreams in late 2023. Bend has at least ported Days Gone to PC in 2021 and recently PS5 in 2025.

ND also has UC4/ LL PS5 and PC ports, TLoU2 remaster in addition to taking over TLoU1 remake since 2020. Even Retro has the Prime remaster in 2023 and DK remaster in 2018.

These studios have at least kept themselves busy with ports/ remasters/ remakes that have all released.

We could go around in circles here forever to be fair and I think its being disingenuous to the point.

Whilst Media Molecule was preoccupied supporting a none selling game (love them but lets be real), BP were helping finish GOW Ragnorok after just shipping Demon Souls which also performed way better then Dreams. All those near identical PS4 > PS5 ports Naughty Dog released are not some significant feat next to helping ship one of the most important PS5 titles to date. The remake of TLOU1 is a different beast I agree.

If we want to look at actual "lost" time from BP we're looking at 3 years, which again is not unheard of. It's not like Retro was working on a Wii U > Switch remaster for 4 years straight, they obviously had a cancelled project between 2014 and 2023 where they release Metroid Prime Remastered.

Essentially it's not ridiculous when all the other companies you list only escape comparison through very low effort ports of games which look identical but now run at higher fps, which if needed I'm sure BP could conjure up swiftly.

And tbh I don't think there's any use continuing this conversation, you're clearly of a stance where you think BPs situation was irredeemable, whereas for me that doesn't appear to be the case at all. We can agree to disagree.
