Not Ideal but it happens. Media molecule and Bend Studios  are in the same boat. Naughty Dog isn't far off either, obviously they defaulted to TLOU remake to avoid direct comparison. Nintendo and Retro Studios were in the same boat, more than 8 years even.

I'm not sure I'd say it's quite the same. MM ended support for Dreams in late 2023. Bend has at least ported Days Gone to PC in 2021 and recently PS5 in 2025.

ND also has UC4/ LL PS5 and PC ports, TLoU2 remaster in addition to taking over TLoU1 remake since 2020. Even Retro has the Prime remaster in 2023 and DK remaster in 2018. 

These studios have at least kept themselves busy with ports/ remasters/ remakes that have all released.
