Switch 2 gets a big ticket Resident Evil new release day and date with other platforms. Switch 1 did not get RE7 or 8 in the same way (streaming only variants released way afterwards). This is truly IMO the real realization of the full potential of the "Switch" concept ... real big 3rd party games like this being able to come to the system with minimal fuss. The Switch 1 never quite got there.

Switch 2 basically delivered the hardware goods at the end of the day. Good hardware performance and a slightly premium but still a reasonable price point, not much more one could reasonably ask for here taking all reasonable things into account.

A portable console being able to play modern console games in this fashion without a big delay in the porting process is a game changer for gamers and the industry in general as well. When I was growing up with consoles the idea of being able to play something like the newest Resident Evil on the portable devices of the time ... (imagine a Game Boy Color or Game Gear running Resident Evil 1 circa 1996 or Game Boy Advance or even a PSP running Resident Evil 4 circa 2005) would have been unthinkable.

Kids today are lucky. To be able to play modern 3D games like this on the go with no fuss is amazing, I would have loved to have a device like the Switch 2 when I was growing up.
