ConciousMan said: Hybrid and Nintendo next gen versus handheld a the weakest of bunch. It's not selling more than OLED despite the less expensive price, guess why. Because it cannot be Switched LOL.
None of Nintendo's current consoles are hybrids, they are all mobile devices with docking functionality... The same functionality that phones and tablets have had for decades... Doesn't make my phone a Hybrid.
Mobile SoC, battery to play mobile, display, wireless connectivity, physical controls.
The fact that one device sells more than another doesn't impact me, you or anyone else and doesn't make one product better than another.
Your argument is stupid.
ConciousMan said: Half price but has smaller screen, no 120hz, VRR, and fake HDR but still. Cannot be docked, has no motion control or mouse control. The library is almost the same for two devices as Switch 2 is backwards compatible.Whatever bro.
Considering part of the argument was portability... The smaller screen should be a benefit, not a hindrance.
120hz is great, it's a shame not many Switch games can benefit from it as it lacks the CPU horse power... Many games like Indiana Jones will be at 30fps, making the displays 120hz capability... Literally useless for that title.
HDR is a pointless feature as it cannot do HDR, the OLED Switch 1 model, despite also not being HDR... Gives a better "HDR-Like" experience with deeper blacks and colours.
The Switch 2's display is actually it's biggest weakness... So if you are going to try and use that terrible display in your argument, you are going to fall face first.
The Switch 2's panel exhibits really poor contrasts, colours and will exhibit excessive amounts of ghosting resulting in a very poor output, the Switch lite's LCD is factually better ironically, despite being smaller and only 60hz. - But that harkens back to hardware being more than just the black-and-white paper specs people use in their arguments.
ConciousMan said: You're not comparing a difference between prices accordingly imo. Xbox Ally X is about $550 more expensive. Well no thanks I prefer my laptop to be honest, at least I can have path tracing.
I am not the one who started the comparisons.
I am literally taking everyone elses comparisons and blowing out the comparison to make their arguments look stupid when their arguments can be used to preference another device.
There is nothing wrong with preferring a laptop or Switch 2 over the Xbox Ally X/Rog Ally X.
ConciousMan said: Also my argument about software optimization is not stupid or outdated. You used Pokemon as a counter ha ha LOL which runs better on Switch 2. When it comes to general software not just gaming like apps and OS, consoles are more optimized than the Windows 11 or even Steam OS. When it's a third party game, people can see that $1000 PC handheld doesn't provide much more performance in many games at much higher TDP.
It runs better on Switch 2 because of it's increased horsepower, not because of optimization.
Your argument is definitely stupid.
Pokemon will run better emulated on the Rog Ally X... And that's the irony of it all.
If TDP is your argument, just remember... Switch Lite is lower powered than the Switch 2, if I can take your argument and apply it to another device, it kinda makes your argument stupid.
ConciousMan said: Look Switch 2 is a gaming tablet of sort it even features mouse control if someone has smaller hands. So, no since you decided to mention something like $1000 gaming handheld, expect a lot of opinions and arguments like this. If Asus prices out the majority of potential customers with an unoptimized game store and OS for a handheld gaming device then the sales will be nothing special. Even I as a PC gamer dislike of what happening to Windows 11, it's so buggy sometimes to the point of irritation. Not having an option to own games and resell them is another drawback for some people too.
I am not the one who initiated the original comparison. Don't push such lies.
ConciousMan said: I wholeheartedly agree, the price is way above what people are willing to pay. Not to mention shitty OS and no ability to resell games.
As a bonus... There is no garbage E-Waste Game Key Cards. That's a very positive feature for PC handhelds to have.
SteamOS is actually a good OS, you should try it sometime instead of propagating nonesense.
