I always felt the PC handhelds were disappointing for the price. A lot of that has to do with FSR being crap.

Having said that the next round of PC handhelds, like the Deck 2, will likely tromp the S2 in performance. The cpu/gpu will be massively upgraded and FSR4 will be supported, which is as good, if not better than DLSS lite.

All that said, still not trading my S2 in for anything because of the exclusive software.

All this is pretty simple and obvious IMHO.

Nintendo did as expected with the S2.  Sacrificed power for price and landed between a ps4 and ps4 pro.  Which is a huge upgrade over the S1 and ps4 like games still look/play great.

Switch 2 is really at the good price point right now imo, given what's happening with hardware prices. Valve is not selling LCD Steam Deck 256GB anymore from what I am seeing. Next iteration of Steam Deck might not be released at all, as it would cost at least $599 and still sold at loss.

Given the fact that Sony and Microsoft are releasing their handhelds, the market will be really crowded. Nintendo might release more powerful versions of Switch 2 like they did with DS brand to offer more than competitors. Personally, I am thrilled for something like Switch 2 Pro with OLED screen or even a better device like DSi. That way Ninny can remain at top of handheld market while still pursuing their blue ocean strategy.

Wholly agree.  The S2 price is fantastic.  I have two in the house, one for my daughter.  No way I would have bought two units at $1000.  Nintendo made the correct move with the price versus power position.
