Yeah I'm only in Chapter 4 but it's a lot of fun so far. Tifa is such a babe, though haven't properly been introduced to Aerith yet. |
Genuinely surprise it wasn't on your radar before. Do you not normally play RPGS? |
I've always had a tendency to stick very closely to my comfort zone, (something I am working to overcome) and JPRGs as a whole were never really my cup of tea with a few rare exceptions. I'm not massively into RPGs as a whole as I can sometimes find them a bit overwhelming, though I have enjoyed some like say Witcher 3 or Mass Effect.

To throw in my two cents as someone who bought it, I didn't grow up with Final Fantasy and didn't have a PS4 in the 8th gen, so the game passed me by when it first came out. Recently, I've been making more of a conscious effort to try out things that normally wouldn't be my cup of tea, as I found I was missing out on a lot of great experiences by sticking too closely to my comfort zone when it came to games, and having bought a Switch 2, I'm keen to try out my new system, so when a demo for FF7R dropped on Switch 2 last month I gave it a go, found I enjoyed it, and so took the plunge and grabbed the full game. I don't really watch playthroughs of games, so while I do know some of the basics of FF7 through pop culture osmosis, it's still a mostly new experience. |
I read this as you haven't played the original??!!?? Old and dated in some regards, but if you haven't played the original, dude, it is still well worth playing. Better than the remakes by a good margin. FFVII (IMO) is still Square's best. My favorite rpg till Expedition 33 came out. |
Turn-based gameplay just isn't my thing, no matter how hard I try I just can't enjoy it.
