To throw in my two cents as someone who bought it, I didn't grow up with Final Fantasy and didn't have a PS4 in the 8th gen, so the game passed me by when it first came out.
Recently, I've been making more of a conscious effort to try out things that normally wouldn't be my cup of tea, as I found I was missing out on a lot of great experiences by sticking too closely to my comfort zone when it came to games, and having bought a Switch 2, I'm keen to try out my new system, so when a demo for FF7R dropped on Switch 2 last month I gave it a go, found I enjoyed it, and so took the plunge and grabbed the full game.
I don't really watch playthroughs of games, so while I do know some of the basics of FF7 through pop culture osmosis, it's still a mostly new experience.
