Updated the numbers as of January 2026. Minecraft on Switch broke 4 million and I updated a few of the 2010's shooters' numbers, since I initially missed some of their final figures from end-of-year type updates.
Ghost of Yotei did reasonably well, and was incidentally the top PlayStation game for Famitsu's 2026 Week 3, but seems like it will not reach GoT's level of success.
Grand Theft Auto 6 was delayed, and is still the biggest Western game on the horizon for Japan.
