As to your 2nd paragraph well that proves my point.  The switch 2 use case for a game like COD is very small if you ask me for the demographic that uses the device.  Do not get me wrong, COD probably will sell decently but nowhere close to PC, PS5 or Series X levels.

Yeah if you're already invested in COD you'll own a PS5/Xbox/PC, but there may well be plenty of Switch 2 owners who aren't invested now, but would consider giving it a go if it came to their platform of choice. We have seen over the last 8 years that third party ports to Switch like Doom, Witcher 3, Bioshock trilogy, et al apparently do well enough that these ports keep coming.

I see we pretty much agree that a port could sell "decently" and that's the thing, a port is a lot cheaper than making a game from scratch so it only needs to sell decently to be worth doing.

I believe it will sell decently but decently doesn't mean it will sell based on the cost to port it to the system.  Anyway, all this is just opinion anyway so when COD eventually comes to Switch 2 I doubt it will sell much.  Most will have already played it who want COD and the few switch 2 only owners I actually doubt will be all that interested.  Maybe the next iteration of the game will do better.
