At this point, assuming the RAM crises continues and/or get's worse as they're predicting, I'd say SNY should put off PS6 until 2030, but launch the handheld asap, even if it has to be labelled as a PS5.
Launch the handheld (hybrid) holiday 2026 if possible, for as cheap as possible ($400 or less) and get as many PS4 players to transition because of it, as well as bring in many more newcomers due to a widely affordable PS5 model.

Next gen can wait, and if the handheld sells well enough, SNY can always get to work on a PS6 model for 2030 or sometime early into next gen.
With the rumors of SNY pushing devs hard on the PS5 eco mode, which is likely for the handheld, it wouldn't surprise me if this is actually what they're going to do.

$400 or less just isn't realistic in the current economy, it'll be $500 minimum if it really is capable enough to run PS5 games at the equivalent of eco mode.

MAKE IT CHEAP!
That is the number 1 objective! Make a consoles at affordable price, $499 or less!

$499 is too much from an overall perspective. Yes, that will get you some existing PS5 gamers to also buy a handheld, or, (cough), switch... to the PS handheld from the console. It will also get you some newcomers who want a PS5 console like experience on the go.

What $499 wouldn't do, is cause many PS4 players to transition, and it won't bring in the more casual masses. I'm talking kinda like the Wii type casuals sort of, who would be growth for the brand, at least for this gen, not the casuals who were eventually going to buy the console at some point regardless, who've mostly bought in already or are saving and are planning to as soon as they possibly can.

$399 is the price to hit. That will get the majority of those who aren't on board yet, to get on board, as well as many others. If SNY hits this price, PS5 will easily clear PS4 total sales.

$429 would also likely work just as well, but it's not the round number SNY likes to launch with. Worst case, they could always launch at $399 then increase the price a year later... because why not at this point? I'm kinda joking here, but sadly, not really.

I'm not saying the handheld won't be worth $499, but that's not going to bring in worthy sales on its own. The only way I see SNY getting fantastic sales from that handheld hardware if they want to sell it at $499, is if they also launch a dedicated home console version of that hardware for $399.

I'm just doubtful SNY will do this. It's way easier and simpler to just launch the handheld. Which is why they would need to hit the $399 price range.
