Like Violet, I'm having to take resolution down to 720p if I plug it to the dock, even the text box gets slugish if I let it on 1080p. It does run a lot better than Violet ever did while unplugged tho.
I think scaling back the game from Violet was the right decision. Most textures in the city are still shameful and feel like a PS1 cardboard city, but the characters look pretty decent and the pokémon too, you could see the pokémon looked decent on Violet too when it very small and controlled places but the shit resolution and performance was hiding it from you during gameplay.
Pokémon in near distance don't seem to move at robotic 5fps anymore like on Arceus or Violet, which its the bare mininum and makes it a lot more pleasing.
But I see no parallel between Sonic 2006 and Pokémon Violet. One was a ambitious but broken mess, the other was a shameful unoptimized but really good game.
Sonic 2006 market the downfall of the franchise, while Violet broke sales records. |
Is that in Switch 1? I ask as I haven’t noticed any of that when playing on Switch 2. |
Yes, Switch 1.
I doubt shitty textures are not present on Switch 2 as well, but it must run on 1080p60fps, right?
While running on 1080p30fps on Switch 1 there is something off about the framerate or frametime, it's not big slowdowns like it was with Violet, but there is something off, even the text on the textbox comes with small hicups instead of flowing naturally. I guess it's mostly framatimes issues. Playing on 720p fix it.
