| Darwinianevolution said: Considering how many big controversies Nintendo has had at this point (leading the charge in 80$ games, the failure of the fake cartridges, the console-bricking ToS...) and not a particularly brilliant first year in terms of software, I'm shocked the system has taken of as it has. |
You continue to be shocked because you refuse to acknowledge how little of the alleged controversies has actually been real.
I clicked on only one negative video on YouTube and since then my recommendations show at least a couple of stupid takes on Switch 2 on a regular basis. The internet is certainly desperate to make people believe that there's something seriously wrong with Nintendo and Switch 2. In some ways it's reminiscent of Switch 1's launch where the internet had decided that the launch window lineup is weak; Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe went on to combine for more than 100 million copies sold. Neither one of these two games was an actual exclusive, but Switch 2's two early heavy-hitters are.
How fake the controversies around Switch 2 were was demonstrated every time it came to making sales predictions. People acted like Nintendo had a flop on their hands, but at the same time they were shitting their pants to predict under 100 million units sold lifetime.
Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.
