Capcom seems to have come around in terms of their Nintendo support

For sure and the same will apply from everyone else, and the main reason is the tech is simply more capable in relation to the other platforms that are being developed for.

Even though the Switch was a huge success, many publishers were not interested into putting a whole team on porting a PS4/5 game to the system over the course of 1year and the end result to being a shadow of the original vision and maybe not even passing 1m.

I think the S2 will still have a bit of a uphill battle in terms of keeping pace with 3rd party sales (Borderlands 4 for example), but I'm sure the RE franchise will do great on it, not least for Japan and how well the games scale down.
