I think we massively underestimated the gain from bespoke development for hardware. Meaning what happens when a dev sits down and actually optimizes a game for a specific hardware config. That's not a little "nice to have" bonus.

Secondly, Nintendo and Nvidia did some crazy optimization to get this kind of performance from an 8nm chip. At 10 watts basically, watt for watt this has to be the most powerful hardware on the market, a ROG Ally can barely get itself out of bed at 10 watts, of course the home consoles can basically do nothing at 10 watts. 

Third, the era of Nintendo releasing really underpowered hardware is over. This is by far the best hardware they've released since the GameCube, the Furukawa era is off to a very good start and the Iwata era is definitely in the past. If you really want to discuss Nintendo hardware you can't really be basing things on points from the Iwata era and like 15 years ago.
