I can't argue against your past relationship issues and anecdotes. I'm married and do about half of the chores (child and house) because I think that's what being an adult means when you both work. So there, you have one experience and I have another. Now maybe we can talk about stuff with evidence to back it up. 

I believe we all agree on women doing more housework than men. I am arguing whether it's because of chores being women's work or because of women choosing to do more of them.

If we remove everyone's anecdotes from the data, we don't have data at all. In your case, you've managed to agree on something that most can't - congratulations.

Most often it seems to be women who complain about the chores and considering today's generations have been raised by mothers, we should also ask why don't mothers teach their sons to do housework.
