And none that changes the fact that 12,000,000 people chose not to endorse Harris....  "because stupid" doesn't explain that massive drop out.

Just to be clear, the people who did not support Harris are also stupid, but for completely different reasons: Apathy. They are not the same group we were discussing earlier. Harris lost 6 million votes compared to Biden, not 12, and those votes did not necessarily go to Trump either. Trump gained 3 million new votes compared to Biden's election, but a large portion of those were first-time voters aged 18–24

Biden won by 65–35, while Harris won by 54–43 a very significant difference. There was a swing to the right, but it was not that substantial. If a person believes social programs are just charity handouts, there's a high chance they have been consistently conservative, right-wing, and voting Republican for quite some time. The main issue was mostly Democrats and independents not voting for Harris, rather than a large swing toward Trump

Edit: There is a group that turned to the right and for Trump though: Latin community, specially latin men. Quite amusing if you ask me, considering how Trump is treating immigrants

Good job on the fact-checking. That the 12 million figure was taken and run with demonstrates confirmation bias.

I agree with you that not supporting Harris was also stupid, but I wouldn't explain that with apathy. I'd call it dissatisfaction with the Biden administration coupled with the intent to teach Democrats a lesson by refusing to vote for them; the basic reasoning for this kind of voters being that they didn't want to reward a political party they weren't happy with. They didn't go as far as voting for Trump because they knew he would be worse, they chose to simply not show up.

But this is stupid behavior in a two-party system. The intent was to punish a political party, but the thing is that life just goes on for politicians. They are wealthy and will hardly be affected in any significant way which explains why so few Democrats have bothered to stand up against Trump in any meaningful capacity. The non-voters themselves, however, will face the consequences because they aren't as well off as the people they wanted to punish. They wanted to hurt the Democratic party and ended up hurting themselves. And again, that's the definition of stupidity, that your own actions end up hurting you.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.
