Sonic Superstars did 2.43 Million so far, and they think it's disappointing?

I honestly think it's really fine considering it's not a very ambitious project.

Sonic Superstars released 3 days before Mario Bros Wonder which was an incredibly dumb move; this ain't the 90s, Sonic is in no shape to take on his old rival head to head any more.

And 2.43 million is fine for a Sonic title anyway despite the fact that they're multiplat. 2.43 mil would be pretty devastating for a 2D or 3D Mario game. But for Sonic it seems decent to good.

And yes, the timing was beyond horrible. I don't see an argument where someone would be willing to pick up both around the same time because they want to play 2D platformers. Keep in mind Spider-Man 2 also launched that day. I got Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder and both were huge hits and I love them as games. Where was my financial and free time budget going to align to add Sonic to those two? It would simply not happen. $130+tax for Spider-Man and Mario was already a lot of money at once and Sonic simply didn't make the cut.
