I would think if this were the case, Nintendo would be crowing about it. I'll wait until they say something.

They are usually pretty mute with hardware milestones usually.

It sold out here as well during the weekend because there's nothing left at my local electro shops and EB Games. They apparently had a lot of non pre-order stock as well of the bundle.

Fact is it likely sold out in most places while also having a much higher allocation than when the Switch launched. Enthusiasts at least we're waiting for that one and it shows when you've got the stock to match

Edit :

Also considering the report that it sold 400K units in China through a SINGLE online retailer, yes ... I'd believe such a report

Not sure if you were serious on that last part or it was sarcasm but Daniel Ahmad(ZhugeEX) already cleared that part up.  The retailer (JD) received 400k people register online for interest/pre-order sign ups and that sales data is much lower.

You are right, sounds like a similar situation to the one in Japan with the MyNintendoStore preorder situation.

I simply read the first report that came out and didn't specify that this was only for registration.

Nonetheless, whatever stock Switch 2 has in China. It's likely sold most of it already.
