Oooh boi, if only this could've been a straightforward comparison in terms of sales which as others pointed out because of Gamepass and Microsoft unwillingness to divulge actual sales numbers will make this even more difficult to gage.

Anywoo, considering the scope of both projects are so different (one being an upgrade port to the next gen console, the other being a full-on graphical remake but not an actual overhaul of it's mechanics) that sales target likely will differ greatly.
Are we supposed to count people who only buy the Switch 2 upgrade pack also in the total sales ? Will Nintendo add those numbers, we don't know.

We know that Nintendo won't count upgrade packs as game sales. Upgrade pack purchases will count in the same way as DLC does.

In before a crazy statistician decides to do the math when we get the financials of the first fiscal quarter to extrapolate the data from the add-on, digital section of the revenue chart.

Not happening of course, but it's be funny to see people try haha.

Actually, I do think there's at least a slight chance of them addressing a ballpark number of how many people have bought these upgrade packs. Their transparency on software numbers could come in handy there.
