Well, Donald Trump currently does more for the german and european economy than four decades of german chancellors. Maybe he is not so good for America, but he certainly is great for us!
The tariff situation and general volatility has already lead to many fickle investors moving their money into german stocks and german government bonds, which allowed the central bank to offer them for lower interest rate, which means germany will have to pay fewer interest for it's debt in coming years. The investment in stock of german and european companies helps these companies make bigger investments.
Also many companies here considering or implementing a switch away from american digital services (like cloud providers) to european ones, as they fear problems, both financial and in rules. This is helped along as the european union is discussing focusing on digital companies in their retaliation measures if the tariffs come back after 90 days. As context: it is much faster to program new services and even to pull up new data processing centers (for cloud services), than it is to build a classic industrial factories, like for car parts which american car producers are dependent on. So while they will struggle to build car part factories in america to replace german suppliers, we can easily build up our already existing companies for digital services, which currently is a major part of american imports into europe.
So yeah, Trump is great for us!
If you ask for a leader which I would want our current leader (Friedrich Merz *vomit*) be replaced with - well pretty much anyone will do, as Merz is already a worst case. But I am kinda fond of Jacinda Ardern, who seemed to have been a pretty based leader. I guess she is not a current leader anymore, but still she is a politician I would want others to take an example of.
