And that comes down to the same reason American cars don't sell. If they were actually built to the quality standards of the markets they're trying to break into, not to mention the roadways, they might have a better chance. But the oversized trucks and duallies that Ford and GM subsist on are not for most European or Asian roads or the needs of everyday drivers in those countries, and the build quality really isn't up to par. Even in the U.S., outside of the F-Series, Silverado, and Ram, the best-selling vehicle lists are dominated by Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Hyundai. 

Trump always rails about Europe not buying American cars. What American cars? All I see is Pick-up trucks (which are extremely niche in Europe, mostly used by hunters or foresters) and huge SUVs (too big for Europe), but not really any cars anymore. Are they still producing any actual cars or have they all switched to SUVs now?
